PORTLAND – Mark Roderick Deane, 67, passed away peacefully in his home on June 4, 2021. He was born August 17, 1953 in Alexandria, Louisiana, the son of Ralph Deane and Joan Deane. He was a successful business owner and amazing person whose smile would light up the universe. He was kind, gentle, generous and so full of life. Mark would help anyone! He embraced everyone. The love of his life was Kaya Rose, the golden doodle that he raised.
His father Ralph Deane preceded Mark in death. Mark is survived by his mother Joan Deane, his son Michael Deane, his caretaker and stepdaughter, Lea El, his business partner and best friend of 33 years Amara El, his brother Wayne Deane and his wife Bonnie, his brother Stephen Deane and wife Susan, his sister Lisa Springer and her husband Ron, and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Visiting Hours will be 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. est. on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Jones Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland, ME 04103. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Monday, June 14, 2021 at Jones Rich & Barnes Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brooklawn Cemetery, Portland ME.
