On July 12,2021, Dennis P. DeFlavis peacefully died surrounded by the love of his beloved wife of 27 years, Paula, and his much loved daughter, Mindy. Denn is survived by his brother, Richard and his sister-in-law Edna. He was the beloved “adopted uncle” of Dominic, Tina, and Greg; he was also the “adopted great uncle” of Brody. Denn’s family and friends will greatly miss him. He was kind, loving, comical and always ready to help.
For 18 years Denn worked as a Network Engineer at Comcast. He had been a Volunteer Firefighter (III & II) and President Emeritus at the Rockaway Beach Firehouse. He served as President of the Firehouse for 2 terms. Further volunteer work including training and serving on the Rescue Squad.
Denn enjoyed photography, music, cooking, grilling and often used his smoker. He was especially known for his smoked turkey, homemade pasta, and his double chocolate pudding cake with ganache. Denn frequently shared recipes with family and friends.
Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. 610 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD 21014 on Thursday 3-5 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM.
