Theron was born in Lake Charles, LA to parents Earl and Geraldine Wright on August 22, 1971.
He was a native of Lake Charles, LA. Theron graduated from LaGrange High School Class of 1989. He was active in soccer and the YMCA Swim Team. He graduated from Tulsa Community College and Spartan School of Aviation. While in school, Theron’s life was challenged by a work- related accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He was mentored back into flying by Rick Amber, a heroic Naval Aviator from the Vietnam Era, who himself was a paraplegic. Rick founded Challenge Air for Kids and Friends, a non-profit organization and brought Theron into the organization as Main Aviator. During Theron’s time with the group until his leaving for medical issues, they flew 24,000 disAbled children throughout the United States. Three events were held here at Lake Charles Airport. His idols were Chuck Yeager and Patti Wagstaff.
He is survived by his parents Earl and Gerry Wright of Lake Charles, LA; his three brothers Chris Wright and wife Martha of The Colony, TX, Earl Wright II and wife Cheryl of Lake Charles, LA, and Sam Wright and wife Laura of Cincinnati, OH; his sister Elizabeth Wright Key of Clear Lake, TX; his partner Amy Por and her daughter Leyla of Iowa, LA; his nieces and nephews Halie and Zachary Wright, McKenzie Wright and Justin Doucet, Laura Taylor, Tab Key, Taylor Henry, and Julian and Claudia Wright; and his great nieces and nephews Emma, Brady, and Baylee Taylor, Tab Key III, Jackson, Tucker, and Maverick Henry.
A visitation will begin Saturday October 16, 2021 at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. A Rosary and a Chaplet of Divine Mercy will take place Saturday October 16, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in Hixson Funeral Home. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12 p.m at Hixson Funeral Home led by Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux.
