My dearest aunt,
You were the most elegant and soft spoken woman I've ever known.   
I'll always remember when we lived on the street just behind your house. And I used to go over to your house, just because I wanted to see you.  
I'll always remember when uncle Jesse and his family would all make a trip to Houston for vacation. And during the week he and the family plus one (me) would stay the night or so at your home. 
Even as a teenager I would always ask my mom if we could go and visit with you and uncle Ben. Even if it were just a short visit. I did enjoy our visit.
Oh the memories of being a little girl and running around your house with Diane, Lisa and Kim!! What great memories!! 
Even though there were so many years that have passed. The first time I went to see you. And when you saw me, you said my name!! Not only did it bring a smile to me, but it also brought me to tears. 
I will miss you and yet, my heart rejoices knowing that we will see each other again!! 
To my cousins Gloria, George, and Carlos and their family. My love and prayers are with you during this time!! 
May the Lord give you His peace and comfort.

Grandma,
I hate that we didn't get to spend as much time together as I would of liked much less with my kids like the time you use to spend with me and Jr. I know I wasn't your blood grandchild but you accepted me as your own because daddy did and I am very grateful for that. I remember growing up and me and Jr. spending lots of time with you and pawpaw helping around the house, yard and going to church. Mom and dad use to leave us there for ya'll to babysit us while they had things to do. You use to sneak us money for helping out and I remembering you telling us, "Don't tell you momma or you daddy.  You listen to you momma and daddy and be good for them. They love you."  There were so many stories you use to tell us and we enjoyed them very much. We spent so much time with ya'll when we were younger and hated that we all drifted apart as we got older. I know those times have passed but, I will never forget them. I wish you could have spend as much time with my kids as we did with you and hurts that things had to happen the way they did. But I know one good thing from all of this, is that you and pawpaw will finally be together again. I know none of us could even imagine what that felt like to be apart from your soulmate. I'm just glad you can finally be at peace and happy to be by his side once again. We love you grandma and you will truly be missed.

Margarita was preceded in death by her husband, Benito Gutierrez; her parents, Gorgonio Duarte and Elisa Gomez.
