Danny Burl Slawson age 72 of Stilwell, Kansas died September 20, 2020 in his Stilwell home. He was born April 15th 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri to Burl H. Slawson and Irene (Feris) Slawson, the oldest of three children. Danny graduated from Stilwell High School class of 1966. He then joined the United States Navy in 1968-1972 aboard the USS Saratoga.
He married Joyce Sue Willis on August 1, 1975 in Olathe Kansas. They lived together in Stilwell Kansas for over 44 years.
Danny was a Journeyman Plumber and a member of Plumbers Local #8 for over fifty years. He was a hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He was a skilled craftsman in wood and leatherwork. In recent years rope braiding became a hobby, crafting reins for horse riding. Danny loved his family and friends, and would never miss a chance to talk to someone.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Marty.
Survivors include his wife Joyce of 45 years; one son, Gary Slawson and his partner Adam, Kansas City, Missouri, his sister Marilyn Edwards and husband Jim, Paola, Ks as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation 1:00p.m. -3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Stilwell Baptist Church of Stilwell 19950 Broadmoor Lane Stilwell, Kansas 66085. The family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church of Stilwell.
