Ann Dickerson Powell

Ann, Dickerson Powell, 59, of Chesterfield, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021. She is survived by son, Connor Powell, son Taylor Powell, daughter-in-law Emily Powell, grandsons Emmett and Theodore Powell, mother Rachel Dickerson, and father Francis Dickerson. Although her life was all too short, Ann lived a fulfilled life as a mother, grandmother, and a successful small-business owner. With a spunky personality that would never back down from a challenge, Ann never met a stranger and was always willing to engage in any capacity with her local community. She had a passion for gift baskets, which she built a career on and provided smiles to countless individuals across Richmond, Virginia, and the United States. She received distinguished honors both locally and nationally for her creativity and business excellence as she furthered her company, Taylor Made For You. Outside of her professional career she was likely found enjoying time with her sons at either JMU or Virginia Tech football games, particularly supporting her sons who were apart of the marching bands at their respective schools. Bike riding was another passion for Ann and she was always down for going on a ride whenever capable. The last and perhaps the most important desire of Ann was to be floating on the river. She would float for hours on end with only a secret signal to identify the need for a beverage and continue enjoying the tide. She will be dearly missed by everyone and remembered for her beautiful smile, friendly spirit, attitude of giving, and absolute fighting spirit. The family will receive friends Friday, July 16, 2021 at 1:00 - 3:00 pm and 6:00 - 800 pm at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home 1020 Huguenot Road, Midlothian, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be donated to the Greater Richmond Area American Heart Association, https://www.heart.org/en/affiliates/virginia/greater-richmond, to promote stroke support for families and research.
