Thomas J. Kennelly

Thomas James Kennelly Resident of Elk Grove, CA, Tom was born in Long Island, New York on November 9, 1931. He was the devoted husband of Neva and father of Patrick Shawn Kennelly (wife Diva) of Wilton, CA and Timothy Brian Kennelly (wife Natalie) of Sacramento, CA. Grandfather of Brian Patrick and Alexander James Kennelly. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Joseph Kennelly and Mary Elizabeth Kennelly (nee Brannelly) and sisters Marian Allen and Catherine Wall. Tom served in the Air Force during the Korean Era and subsequently earned a B.S. degree under the G.I. bill entitlement at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA. During his college years, while in temporary employment as a Department of Forestry Firefighter, Tom was awarded the California Medal of Valor for a heroic life-saving act. Tom went on to a 34-year career with the State Transportation Agency (Caltrans), retiring in December 1993. Tom was a long time member of the American Legion. He was devoted to family and home and took great pride in the educational and career achievements of his wife and sons.
