Genelle Louise Burgett

Genelle Louise Burgett, 80, of New Whiteland passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family. Genelle was born in Mount Vernon, Illinois on August 13, 1940, the daughter of Marvin and Carmen (Stewart) Sutton, and was a 1958 graduate of Beech Grove High School. Mrs. Burgett was a member of the Lioness Club. She worked as a Secretary for Musicians Repair Service for 25 years. She also worked as a Claims Processor for Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 13 years until her retirement. After retirement Genelle was an upholsterer for Second Chance Furniture. She was very creative, and loved to build, craft, and spend time with her family. Genelle enjoyed working on Genealogy. Survivors include her six children, Shelly Green-McFadden, (husband-Ric), Butch Green, Kathy Green-Elliott, Jeff Green, (wife-Julie), Cindy Rule-Gutierrez, (husband-Rick), and Michael Burgett; two brothers, Bob Sutton, (wife-Carla) and Ed Hoots; thirteen grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Patricia Sutton-Barnes; and a brother, Jim Hoots. The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
