Personalized funeral services, celebrations of life

Celebration of life venue for services, gatherings and receptions at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial GardensRenovated in 2016, Memphis Funeral Home is more than 13,000 square feet of contemporary comfort. The lobby fireplace helps create the feeling of a personal residence. Sit with us in a private space and let's discuss life. Who was your special person? How did he or she live? What's the very best way to celebrate and remember?

Is it a traditional funeral service performed by a member of the clergy in the Dogwood Chapel, where pews seat up to 300 guests and 3 huge windows let in lots of natural light? Or, is it a contemporary service conducted by our celebrant, complete with a multimedia tribute and a custom playlist before and during the gathering? Maybe it starts with a visitation in the Azalea Suite and ends with a golf-themed reception for 100 guests who are treated to the best barbecue in Memphis and golf shirts as takeaways. Maybe guests see a farm tractor at our entrance and enjoy a buffet of Grandpa's cherished pies.

Whatever's right for the specific life you're giving tribute to, we can help you create virtually anything you desire.

Cremation services

Sitting area at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial GardensNot everyone knows that there are many cremation options. If you are interested in cremation, the funeral home team can explain the process and different options. Whether it's a direct cremation without a memorial service, a witness cremation or a full funeral service before the cremation, we help you understand this increasingly common choice—and handle all of the cremation arrangements.

In-House Crematory and Florist

Memphis Funeral Home is proud to operate our own in-house crematory, staffed with caring employees, ensuring that your loved one will never leave our care until they are safely returned to you following cremation. Our in-house florist receives fresh flower deliveries daily, ensuring your floral needs are met and your expectations are exceeded.

Lean on us

All of our services are designed to help you through one of the more personal and challenging stages of life. We understand that losing a loved one is an emotional and difficult experience, and we are committed to providing compassionate, professional and personal service. Whatever send-off will best reflect the personality and passions of your loved one, we go the extra mile to make it happen—and we do it with a level of care and compassion that's uncommon in this world. Our funeral directors and counselors are available 24/7. Please call us when you need us.

Memorial Gardens cemetery

Cemetery Grounds at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial GardensOur beautifully landscaped red brick entrance takes you into a park-like cemetery that draws Bartlett residents for early morning meditation and evening walks. It is a beautiful final resting place for you or someone you love—as well as home to the occasional white-tail deer.

With religious statues such as a cross and a depiction of Christ's apostles, Memorial Gardens features a wide selection of burial options. From in-ground burial to above-ground entombment, private bench estates to community mausoleums, marble cremation niches to in-ground inurnment, there are many choices to suit your family's traditions and wishes.

Mausoleum options

Memorial Gardens cemetery has 4 outdoor mausoleums: Eagle Mausoleum, Hope Mausoleum, Prayer Mausoleum and Mausoleum Gardens. Surrounded by manicured hedges, Eagle and Hope mausoleums sit on the north side of the cemetery. On the south side, Prayer Mausoleum has a gated breezeway where a small committal service can be held. In the center of the Mausoleum Gardens stands a tall white mausoleum with a bell that chimes every hour.

Lakeside Estates

The exclusive Lakeside Estates offers burial selections next to the cemetery lake. Options include in-ground burials with upright markers. The Divine Promise garden also provides in-ground burials with upright markers. We invite you to visit Memorial Gardens to see the cemetery for yourself. If you would like a tour, please contact us.

History

In 1955, Arch C. Long began developing a cemetery in a cotton field outside of Memphis, Tennessee. Under its original name, Memory Hill Gardens, the cemetery became a member of the Dignity Memorial® network in 1992.

Just a few years later, in 1995, Memphis Funeral Home was built on the southwest corner of the cemetery property. In 2008, the funeral home and cemetery began operating under the names Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.

These establishments have evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of the community, yet our commitment to compassionate care and service excellence has never wavered.

Caring for the community

Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens place a big importance on community involvement. Our teams belong to such organizations as the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce and Northeast Shelby County Rotary Club. Additionally, we host events for the families we've served as well as the community at large. Each Mother’s Day, we distribute roses to families visiting our cemetery and invite them to place the flowers on the graves of their loved ones. On both Memorial Day and Veterans Day, we fly flags throughout the cemetery and hand out little flags for visitors to place on military graves.
