Debra Buelow Wilkerson grew up in Ada, Oklahoma, and decided to pursue a career in funeral service at the young age of 14. After 2 years at East Central University majoring in psychology and sociology, Debbie moved to Edmond in 1977 to attend Central State University and complete her education. After receiving her bachelor of science degree in mortuary science in May 1979, she began helping families plan meaningful tributes for their loved ones. She has been with the Dignity Memorial® family since the late 1980s.
Married since 1990, Debbie and her husband have called South Oklahoma City home for over 3 decades. She is active with collie rescues and has 2 certified therapy dogs, participating in programs at local libraries where children read to the dogs. She and her therapy dogs also visit hospitals, nursing homes, veteran's centers and many other venues. Debbie is a hospice volunteer and a member of the Lutheran Church and the Oklahoma City Tall Club.
