Haven of Memories Memorial Park cemetery

Established in 1956 by Russell and Maurice Eubank, Haven of Memories Memorial Park was the first perpetual care cemetery in Van Zandt County and remains one of the county's finest resting places. Located at 27532 State Highway 64, Haven of Memories Memorial Park has provided a peaceful atmosphere for reflection for decades. We offer immaculately groomed gardens with beautiful live oak trees to complete our 35-acre perpetual care park.

Great care is taken by the men and women who work in the cemetery to maintain its beauty and park-like appearance. For over 60 years, our commitment has remained unchanged.

Wide variety of burial options

As you stroll through our beautiful cemetery grounds, you'll find a multitude of burial choices. From traditional ground burial and private estates to mausoleum entombment and cremation memorialization, there are plenty of options available to suit your needs. One of our newest features is a stately granite mausoleum that has above-ground burial and cremation niche options.

Honored to serve veterans and the military

Haven of Memories Memorial Park has over 1,600 veterans buried within our cemetery grounds. We appreciate those who served our country in military service. We honor the veterans buried in Haven of Memories by placing a flag on their grave the week before Memorial Day. We also honor their memory with a 10am service the Saturday before Memorial Day in the Eubank Chapel, and we welcome family and friends to share in this special time of remembrance.

History

A man with a true entrepreneurial spirit, Lee Eubank of Mabank purchased Liberty Hardware Company of Wills Point and Canton in 1926 and then ventured into the funeral business with Eubank Funeral Home in both cities. To help people with funeral expenses, Lee founded Eubank Burial Insurance Company in 1937, the first business of its kind in Van Zandt County. People often exchanged produce and animals to help pay their insurance premiums.

Eubank family tradition of funeral care

Eventually, Lee sold the Eubank Funeral Home Wills Point location. His son Russell and Russell's wife Maurice took over the Canton location. Russell's sons, Kent and Tommy, helped run the funeral home. In 1956, Russell and Maurice established the first perpetual care cemetery in Canton, Haven of Memories Memorial Park. Three years later, they moved the funeral home into a new building adjacent to the cemetery. Through the years, the Eubank family has earned a reputation for providing impeccable care to Canton area families, which lives on today.
