    Brock R Bassett


    Brock is a graduate of Lamar University and Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. He spent 12 years as a youth minister before leaving church ministry to pursue a different type of ministry: funeral service. Brock has a passion for helping the families he serves at Sparkman/Hillcrest. He began working at Sparkman/Hillcrest while attending mortuary school. Brock takes pride in being able to represent Sparkman/Hillcrest with dignity and respect.

    When not at work Brock enjoys spending time with his pup, Snickers, traveling to visit his family and going to the beach with his friends. Brock is active in his church and proud to call Dallas home.

    Charlinda Latricia Armstrong

    Funeral Director

    Charlinda grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico. She graduated from Hobbs High School and the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. She is dedicated to creating  memorable funerals and memorials. When she’s not at work, Charlinda enjoys spending time with her son, traveling to visit her family and reading.

    Michael A Frick

    Funeral Director

    Michael has helped families plan funerals since 1976, starting in the parish ministry and then becoming a funeral director at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in 2014. Michael enjoys presenting families with a precious memory of their loved ones through restorative art.

    Michael has been married since the 1970s and lives with his wife in Sachse. They have 2 sons and 2 grandsons. Michael enjoys cooking and eating.

    David Karlebach

    Funeral Director

    Dallas native and graduate of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, David Karlebach currently serves as our licensed funeral director and Jewish community liaison with a great passion for helping families during their time of need.

    David's roots in the Dallas Jewish community span decades, having attended services and Hebrew school at Congregation Shearith Israel, where he was once chapter president of United Synagogue Youth. Karlebach remains an active congregant and leads daily minyan services. In the early 1990s, he joined the Chevra Kadisha at Tiferet Israel, later transferring to the Shearith Israel Chevra Kadisha where he continues his services.

    A member of the Dallas Jewish War Veterans and Dallas Jewish Historical Society, Karlebach also participates in the annual Dallas Kosher Chili Cook-Off. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his daughter, exploring new restaurants, golfing and playing cards with friends who have played together for over 40 years.

    Andrew J Mullen

    Funeral Director

    Andrew has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home since May 2017. He is a 2004 graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Andrew serves the families of Dallas with the utmost professionalism and compassion.

    Sara Jane Pearson

    Funeral Director

    Sara was born in Provo, Utah, but lived in many states across the country before coming to Texas in 2015. She graduated with honors from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 2017 and joined our team shorty after. Sara’s passion for helping others brought her to the funeral service industry. In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with her family, reading, drawing and embroidery.

    Melanie Josette Roach

    Funeral Director

    Born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada, Melanie Roach earned her funeral service education degree at Collège Boréal in Sudbury, Ontario, and received her funeral director and embalmer license in 2005.

    During her decade-long career in Ottawa, Ontario, Melanie earned the highest award given by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario in recognition of her outstanding professionalism and etiquette in the funeral business. Melanie also completed an applied management degree at Algonquin College and moved to Texas, becoming a Texas-licensed funeral director and embalmer in 2013.

    Melanie is a bilingual French Canadian and enjoys hockey, travel, music and spending time with her husband and son.

    Edward K Boling


    Eddie has been a licensed funeral director since 1996. He has worked with the Dignity Memorial network since 2011 and is dedicated to serving the families of Dallas/Fort Worth. Eddie's hobbies include fishing, hunting and traveling.
