A century of compassionate funeral care
Our funeral services are designed to help Pueblo-area families through one of the most personal and challenging stages of life. We understand losing a loved one is an emotional and difficult experience, and our team is committed to providing compassionate, professional and personal service.
With a rich history in Pueblo, T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home commits itself to community involvement. We proudly sponsor programs that honor firefighters, clergy, hospice, public service workers, Veterans Day and Relay for Life. We strive to help educate the community through the products and services we offer families, as well as through seminars that teach the value of planning ahead for funeral services. Please contact us if you need immediate assistance or if you would like more information about our funeral services.
A family tradition
T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home was founded in 1887 by Timothy George McCarthy, who served as Pueblo’s 1st mayor and county sheriff. Our funeral home was the 1st licensed funeral home in the state of Colorado and was originally located at 110-112 N. Main Street. T.G. McCarthy was also one of the founding members of the Colorado Funeral Directors Association. McCarthy had 3 sons, including Henry and Raymond, who continued the family tradition of operating the funeral home until 1956. Raymond then purchased his brother’s business interest and built the new mortuary at 329 Goodnight Ave. Raymond’s son, Timothy G. McCarthy II, took ownership of the business in 1960.
