    Funeral Director

    Julius (Jay) Barany has provided compassionate care to families in Stuart since 2012. Jay earned his degree in mortuary science from American Academy McAllister Institute in 1975. Jay is extremely proud to be part of the Dignity Memorial® team, guiding you through one of the most personal times in life. Jay often volunteers at his church, helping the homeless. When Jay is not serving families, he enjoys going to the beach, taking cruises and spending time with his grandchildren.

  • Laura Ruth Barbone


    Since 2008, Laura has provided compassionate care to families in the Martin and St. Lucie County areas. Laura earned her associate degree in funeral science from St. Petersburg College and is passionate about taking care of each family she serves with utmost dignity. She is proud to be a part of the Dignity Memorial® team, guiding you through one of the most personal times in life.

    When she is not serving families, you can catch Laura at the beach with her family or tubing down the Ichetucknee River. She also enjoys barbecuing with her family and friends and is a huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins, loyal in the most of trying times.

    Funeral Director

    Ed has been serving families on the Treasure Coast of Florida since the early 2000s and has been a funeral director since 1989. Originally from Pennsylvania, Ed resides in Port St. Lucie. In his spare time, Ed enjoys going to the beach or an amusement park with his daughter. He also enjoys golf, running, playing trivia games and attending live music events.

  • Nathan I Clopman

    Funeral Director

    Nathan has been serving families on the Treasure Coast since 2011. Originally from Massena, New York, Nathan resides in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Nathan grew up in a family run business and has always enjoyed the making personal connections with families.

    Having learned from his grandfather at an early age the importance of giving back to the community, Nathan is active in Rotary International and the Young Professionals of the Treasure Coast. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys watching the Miami Dolphins, Montreal Canadiens and Boston Red Sox. He also enjoys the sun and spending time boating on the waters of Florida.

  • Chastity N Scott

    Funeral Director

    Since 1998 Chastity has provided compassionate care to families in South Florida. Chastity earned her degree in mortuary science from Miami Dade College in 2006. At an early age, Chastity personally learned the meaning of a "mourners bench" through the passing of a loved one. That experience of loss inspired her career decision and gives her compassion for each family. When Chastity is not tending our community families, she is making memories with her own. She is a beach enthusiast who enjoys bowling.

  • Eric S Varner

    Funeral Director

    Eric graduated summa cum laude from John Tyler Community College in 1999 with an associate degree in mortuary services and has always been motivated to serve his community with compassion. He served in various Virginia funeral homes in Richmond and Williamsburg before moving to Florida in 2008 and joining the Dignity Memorial® team in 2009.

    After working with many retirees who lacked the social network of close friends and family, Eric founded Surviving Spouses, a support group for widows and widowers. In his spare time, Eric enjoys reading, writing, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen and amateur photography.

  • Glenn Eric Dewhirst

    Funeral Director

    Glenn E. Dewhirst, or "Dewey", is a 3rd generation funeral director with over 30 years of funeral service experience. He earned his associates degree in funeral service from the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences after graduating with a bachelor's in history from Plymouth University. He owned and operated a funeral home in Laconia, N.H. for 3 decades before moving to Hobe Sound in 2013, bringing his knowledge and love of service to the community in Martin County as a funeral director. Dewey is a rabid fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins.

  • Peter L Piscitelli

    Funeral Director

    Peter Piscitelli grew up in New York, graduated cum laude from Point Park University in Pennsylvania and went on to receive his mortuary science degree from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1988. He then moved to the Washington, D.C., area where he lived for 29 years and worked in funeral service as an apprentice, funeral director, assistant manager and general manager. With licenses in both Virginia and Maryland, Peter is a past president of the Northern Virginia Funeral Directors Association and has served on the board of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association. His passion for helping families has remained his primary focus for over 30 years.

    With a lifelong dream of living in Florida, he and his wife moved to the Sunshine State in 2016. They have a son, daughter and family dog. Along with his love of the New York Jets, Peter enjoys the beach, boating and golfing.
