Jim has provided compassionate care to families in Fort Smith and the surrounding areas since his 1980 graduation from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. He is proud to be a part of the Dignity Memorial® team, guiding you through one of the most personal times in life. When he is not at the funeral home, Jim enjoys golf, fishing and watching basketball.
Randall A Smith
Randy became a licensed funeral director in 1976. In 1987, Randy became manager of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, a position he still holds. Randy is happily married. In his free time, he writes grants on behalf of a cemetery and produces a fundraiser to help save historic cemetery monuments.
Gerald V Harris
Gerald went to mortuary school in 1956 and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in1957. He began his career with the Edwards family of funeral homes that same year. Although Gerald retired in 1998, he remains active at the Van-Alma location, serving as a part-time funeral attendant. Gerald was awarded the distinction of Lifetime Licensee by the state of Arkansas in 2006.
Outside of the funeral home, Gerald has served since 1982 on the board of Stepping Stone School, a school for people with developmental disabilities. In fact, he's been president of the board since 1997. He is also an original board member of the District 6 Fire Department and an honorary fireman. Gerald has also been a Gideon since 1968.
Brandy Michelle McKinney
Brandy graduated from Arkansas State University in 2005. She became a licensed funeral director in 2007. When she is not working, Brandy enjoys spending time with her two daughters and riding motorcycles with her family.
