James David Tavera

Mr. Tavera was born on August 22, 1957 in Seguin, TX to the late Jose G. Tavera and Delores Rubio Tavera. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; watching Nascar and college football; anything Harley Davidson; and watching monster trucks. James enjoyed spending time with his family but most of all he adored his granddaughters. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darlene Hudson Tavera of Abilene; his daughters, Amanda and Amy Tavera of Abilene, and Jennifer Hightower and husband, Joe of Roby; brothers, Johnny Tavera and wife, Connie of Dallas, and Jose Tavera of Abilene; a sister, Judy DeLaGarza and Andy Serrano of Abilene; grandchildren, Analicya Muñoz of Abilene, Jennica Tavera of Abilene, and Ryleigh Jo Hightower of Roby; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Hightower, Andy Serrano, Jimmy Lopez, Gerardo Meza, Jose Tavera, Johnny Tavera and Josh DeLaGarza.
