John Willie Lee, age 75, of Detroit, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Our beloved John Willie Lee was born on August 10, 1948 in Blytheville, Arkansas to the late Charles Andrew Lee Sr. and Mary Lee Lee.
John Willie Lee was baptized in 1966 while in Job Core in Garland County the family church was St. John Baptist located in Sherrill, Arkansas. John was educated in Sherrill-Altheimer School District. He later went on to Ouachita Job Core in Hot Springs, Arkansas where he trained in Carpentry, and Heavy Machine Operations.
In August of 1969, John moved to Detroit, Michigan where he met the love of his life, Linda Jean Hobby. They were joined in holy matrimony on October 28, 1972, they were married for 45 glorious years, to this union 2 wonderful sons were born.
John began his career at Chrysler Corporation in 1969 where he worked as a welder for 30 years at the Warren Truck Assembly Plant located in Warren, MI. He was an active member of the UAW Local 140. John retired from DaimlerChrysler on October 30, 1999.
John Willie Lee had many entrepreneurial ventures including a Custodial Service, Prime Time Transportation Company, Gravel Removal Service and Real Estate. John’s true passion was the Entertainment Industry particularly the Music Industry where he promoted many Blues Shows and Artists for over 30 years under J & J Productions and Prime Time Productions.
John lived a full life, he loved to entertain his family and friends, whether it was through family cookouts, fish fry’s or Blues Shows he brought positivity and excitement to any event. Swimming and music were a few of his favorite hobbies, but everyone knew he loved to dress. It was nothing to see him in a snazzy suit or a pair of starched Levies, shiny shoes and Italian Knit sweater.
John leaves to cherish his memory and legacy, (2) sons; John L. Lee and Jarett L. Lee, a granddaughter who was the joy of his life Brandi S. Lee. (3) Sisters; Elonia Lee, Martha Ann White (Larry White preceded him in death), Mary Ann Lee. (4) Brothers; Charles Lee (Mary Lee preceded him in death), Carl Lee, Berdell (Rickey) Lee (Debra Lee), Larry Lee. His wife Linda J. Lee and his parents Charles A. Lee Sr. and Mary L. Lee preceded him in death. He also leaves to cherish a host of Sister and Brother In-Laws, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and Friends.
