Brian Wesley Billow, 81, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away January 26, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Brian was born November 10, 1938 in Liverpool, Pennsylvania to Glenn Chester Marlowe Billow and Mary Jane (Zaring) Billow. Brian graduated from Greenwood Joint High School, class of 1956. He enlisted in the Marines in 1957 and proudly served his country, including a tour in various countries in the Pacific. In 1959, he married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Anne (Beaver) Billow. In the ensuing years, they raised three wonderful children, Debbie, Brian Jr., and Sean. Brian began working for IBM in 1961, which took him and his family from Pennsylvania to North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, Maryland, Atlanta, and Hong Kong. After retirement, Brian and Barbara lived in Boone, North Carolina and ultimately settled in Loveland, Colorado to be closer to his family.
His family meant everything to him as he did to them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and painting and shared those passions with family as well. He was also a dedicated soccer and life coach who never failed to support his loved ones in words and actions. There was an unspoken bond that Dad or Papa was always there for you. He enjoyed traveling with his family to Ireland, Alaska, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Thailand, New Zealand and recurring trips to Yellowstone and his favorite, the Outer Banks.
As a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Brian was active in missions. He led ‘Operation Turkey’, collecting funds and non-perishable items to provide hundreds of holiday turkey dinners over the years through the House of Neighborly Service in Loveland.
