Michael Joseph Leary, age 53, passed away peacefully on June 20th 2019, with his wife Lynn and his 1 brother Mathew by his side.
After graduating High School, He attended SUNY College @ Plattsburgh, NY, he then had a 30 year career with the US Postal Service.
Growing up he played hockey and he continued to play on a men’s league into his 20’s. He loved being outdoors and in his teens he and his childhood friends learned how to hunt. It brought him so much joy over the years, to be out in the woods with his friends. He also loved the ocean and would share is memories of spending every summer with family, Aunts, Uncles & cousins in Rhode Island. He was fortunate to also go on many vacations with his wife’s family and create great relationships with all of them.
Michael was born on January 4, 1966 in Ft. Worth, Texas to parents Thomas G. Leary, Jr and Karen Marie Leary
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Leary and his stepson Austin Glick; his brother Matthew Leary, and his wife Jill Leary and their children Tyler and Grace Leary; And brother Thomas Leary
He is predeceased by his grandparents: Thomas G. Leary, Sr. and Julia Kapawich Leary and Thomas J. Hurley and Doris Ashley Hurley
Michael was a caring, loving stepfather to Austin and was a constant presence in his life. He loved being an uncle to Grace and Tyler and served as Grace’s Godfather.
He had a silly sense of humor that drew everyone toward him & had the best laugh, he will be greatly missed by many.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday July 13th at 12:00 pm (noon), at Olinger Mt. Lindo Cemetery, 5928 S. Turkey Creek Road., Morrison, CO 80465. Followed by a luncheon, location to be determined.
