Jacquolyn Wing Neighbors

A native of Athens, Mrs. Neighbors was born on May 15, 1947, the daughter of Marion William (Billy) Wing and Kathryn Blanks Wing. She was a 1965 graduate of Athens High School. Jackie was a wonderful dancer and enjoyed dancing all her life. She graduated from the University of Georgia, with a degree in Business Administration.

On March 14, 1970, Jackie and William Alexander (Alex) Neighbors were married, and lived many happy years full of love and laughter. Mrs. Neighbors is survived by a daughter, Kathryn Wing Neighbors; and a son, William Alexander Neighbors, Jr., his wife Denise; and two adored grandchildren, Luke Anthony and Lucy Emerson Neighbors. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Alex; and her sister, Kathy Gruetzmacher.

Mrs. Neighbors was an accomplished dancer, skilled gardener, admired educator, loyal friend, devoted family member, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 8, at Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens, Georgia. There will be a reception at the Sexton’s House immediately following the service.

Her family is thankful for the loving care she received at The Oaks in Snellville Assisted Living Community, where she could often be found dancing with her caregivers.
