Barbara M. Nordbye, age 89 passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Barbara was born November 23, 1931 in Buffalo, New York to Mary Margaret Gieb Farmer and The Late Fredrick Howard Farmer. She met and married Jack Nordbye in February of 1956. Together they built a beautiful home for their sons, John, Tom, Paul, and Matt.
Barbara was a nurse all of her adult career, beginning her Colorado nursing career at Denver General and ended her career as the head nurse for the evening shift at Aurora Presbyterian. She was also a 51 year member of St. Pius X Catholic Parish in Aurora, CO. She and Jack loved being long time members of the Elks Lodge #1921, and the Eagles Club in Aurora. She loved being apart of any club or lodge where she could dance.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, The Late John "Jack" Francis Nordbye; her father The Late Fredrick Howard Farmer; and her mother Mary Margaret Gieb Farmer. She is survived her sons, John M. (Betsy), Tom (Ruth), Paul (Kim), and Matt (Peggy); grandchildren, John L., Eric A., Vincent, Thomas, Kristie, Andrew, Christopher, Thomas J., and Michael; step-grandsons, Michael and Ty; great grandchildren, Hunter, Haley, Madison, Garrett and Thomas J. Jr.; and great, great granddaughter, Graceland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 10am at St. Pius X Catholic Parish in Aurora, Colorado. Barbara will be laid to rest in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
