Billie Ruth Gregory

Billie Ruth Odom Gregory went to Heaven in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Billie was born in Bennington, OK, and moved to South Texas with her family. Billie had four sisters and one brother.

Billie and her husband, Donald Gregory, met at Harlingen High School, while Billie was a cheerleader, twirler, and drum majorette and Donald played football. After graduation, Billie spent two years modeling in New York City, then went on to pursue additional education, eventually earning her Master’s Degree, and enjoying a long career in a variety of roles helping children in the public school system, which was her passion.

Billie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends. She touched their lives deeply and will be remembered for her love of them. She is survived by her daughter Linda Gregory, her son Scott Gregory, along with her grandchildren, Kelsey Acosta, Shelby Acosta, Victoria Gregory, Kenneth Gregory, and Kevin Gregory.

Donald preceded Billie in death in July of 2010 after a battle with lung cancer. Billie was a devout Christian and is now in Heaven with beloved family members.

A Funeral Service will be held at for Billie at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Dr., Austin, Texas 78749 on Monday, June 3rd, at 10:00 am followed by a 2:30 pm Graveside Service at Mission Park Cemetery Dominion located at 20900 IH-10 West, San Antonio, Texas 78257.
