Grace Kuehn Lauderdale was born February 13, 1918 to Gus and Mary Schwartinsky in Lorena, Texas and was called home to heaven on August 30, 2012 to join her parents, her six sisters and one brother who went before her and welcomed her there. She was also welcomed by her first husband of 49 years Rogene Kuehn in 1987 and by her second husband of 9 years, Edwin Lauderdale, in 1999. She and Rogene were married on November 3, 1938 at Cottonwood Baptist Church, Lorena, Texas where she had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior 10 years before. She and Rogene were blessed with two daughters, Doris and Linda. They soon became members of Northwest Baptist Church where Grace still has many friends.
Mamer, as she was lovingly known, was a full time homemaker in Austin. She enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren grow into beautiful adults and they in turn love her dearly. Grace enjoyed gardening both vegetables and flowers and crocheting in her spare time. On April 20, 1990, she married Edwin Lauderdale and spent nine happy years together before he passed away.
Grace is survived by two daughters, Doris Fritcher and husband Al of Lampasas, Texas and Linda Stegall of Lumberton, Texas; grandchildren Leigh Ann Trolinger and husband Rolland of Pflugerville, Texas, Tim Fritcher and wife Vicki of Driftwood, Texas; Debbie Burns of Austin, Texas; Joey Stegall, Mark Stegall, David Stegall, Chad Stegall and wife Stacey, Josh Stegall and wife Cyndi all of Lumberton, Texas. She enjoyed 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Ed Lauderdale, Jr. and wife Beverly and Patricia Burns. Visitation with friends and family will be at Cook-Walden Funeral Home on 6100 N. Lamar Blvd on Sunday, September 2, 2012 from five o’clock to seven o’clock in the evening. A graveside service will be held at the Cook-Walden Capital Parks Memorial Gardens on Monday, September 3, 2012 at ten o’clock in the morning with her six grandsons serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, the family suggests donations be made to Northwest Baptist Church, 6301 Woodrow Avenue, Austin, Texas 78757.
