Odis Hoosier, 73, of Rose City, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at his residence. A native of DeQuincy, LA., Odis has lived in Rose City for 30 years, and was a retired operator and drill foreman with Austin Industries. Odis enjoyed blues music, fishing, going to the casino with his wife, and especially enjoyed being with all of his family.
A Celebration of Odis's Life will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with cremation to follow at Haven of Rest Crematory. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the funeral home.
Odis was preceded in death by his parents, Ocie and Lena Hoosier, daughter, Dana Hoosier, sister, Norma Jean Grimes.
Odis is survived by his loving wife Diana Hoosier of Rose City, daughters, Karen Traiteler and her husband Paul of Vidor, Sandra Ryan and her husband Dave of Sour Lake, and Rachel Wright and her husband Seth of Beaumont, brother LeRoy Simmons and his wife Joy of Nashville, TN., five grandchildren, Sean Ryan, Connor Ryan, Macie Traiteler, Evan Traiteler, and Elijah Wright.
Odis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
