Bessie M. Hall

Our Mother and Granny, Bessie M. Hall, age 91, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in Meeker, Oklahoma. She was born February 5, 1931 in Paris, Arkansas to John M. and Bessie (Goldsworthy) Bowles. She married George Franklin Hall August 12, 1950. Together they raised their twin boys, Jerry and Gary Hall. Bessie was a woman who was full of life, orneriness, and love for her family. She was kind and compassionate and loved taking care of other people. Bessie enjoyed bingo, jigsaw puzzles, and cross-stitch. She also had a talent for playing the piano, organ, and harmonica. She loved to give people a hard time, but it was always done out of love. Her family will carry on her legacy of love, laughter, and orneriness.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Hall (1999); and 8 siblings, Noel, Paul, Hubert, Maggie, Lucille, Betsy, William, and Hazel.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Anne Hall, Gary and Pam Hall; grandchildren, Ashley Corbett and husband Michael, Leslie Penka and husband Travis, and Tara Hall; step grandchildren, Janet (Jim) Roberts, Jenny Sneed, Jason Labombard, Carrie (Michael) Coryer, and Jerry (Amy) Peryea; great grandchildren, Emily Corbett, Sienna Corbett, Allison Corbett, Abigail Corbett, Hannah Corbett, Owen Penka, Trey (Bailey) Sneed, and Shylah Sneed; and great-great granddaughter, Zoey Sneed.

Visitation will be 11am-2pm Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service. Her Celebration of Life will begin at 2pm with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
