Beverley H Garrison

Beverley Halcyone Garrison passed away quietly on November 16, 2018 at the age of 69 after a brave battle with cancer. Bev was born to Richard and Halcyone (nee Garbett) Watkins on February 5, 1949 in Royal Oak, MI. She graduated from Walled Lake High School in 1967 and received a bachelor degree from Michigan State University. After college Bev began working for MSU in the University Services Department. Bev worked for MSU for 35 years and retired in December of 2011.

Bev and her husband of 27 years, Gene Garrison, enjoyed splitting their retirement years between their home in Holt MI and home in Bradenton FL. Bev was a lifelong learner and loved life. She especially loved the beaches on Anna Maria Island in Florida, as well as passing her love of manatee’s and finding seashells on to her nieces and grandchildren.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Bev will be missed by all who knew her. She will be especially be missed by her brother Neal Watkins of Austin TX, her step-son’s Matt (Laura) Garrison of Lowell MI, Mark Garrison of Nashville TN, her 2 grandchildren Malia and Colin, as well as her treasured nieces Stephanie (David) Moll and Liane (Jessica) Watkins.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday November 26 at the University Club on the campus of Michigan State University from 1:30 to 4:30. A grave side service will be held at 1:00 pm, January 11, 2019 at Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell FL.
