Catherine Bertha Greway

On May 9, 2020, surrounded by family, our beloved Cathy passed-away peacefully at the age of 68. Wife of the late Jerry Propp, Sister of Mary Ellen (Jerry) Crane, Edward (Dianne) Greway and Margaret (Ralph) Schellinger, Sister-in-law of Joanne (Vince) Zapata, Ron Propp, and Larry (Ruth) Propp. Aunt to - Cindy (John Gindle) Crane, Lisa (John) Hickey, Jerry (Heather) Crane, Joe (Trish) Crane, Kristi (Jim) Holstein, Stacey Schellinger, Katie (Matt) Lewis, and Jennifer (David Sewell) Greway. Also survived by many grand nieces and nephews.

Cathy had a passion to see the world. She was an avid traveler with many traveling friends. She led an extraordinary life and she lived it to the fullest. Her story began when she was born in Philadelphia. In her early twenties, she moved to Colorado and lived there for 40 years. She moved back to New Jersey three years ago to be near her family. She was a free spirit who loved to hike in the mountains, spend time at the beach with friends and family, and travel to many places around the world. She loved her dog, Tucker, and spent many hours walking him in the neighborhood and on the beach since returning to the east coast. She enjoyed and looked forward to going out to eat with friends and family. She did not let what the future could bring scare her. If she had a bad day, she accepted it and looked at the brighter side.

We can hear Cathy saying “oh come on guys” because she would not want us to be sad. She was a one-of-a-kind person and will truly be missed by all of us who were lucky enough to know her.

A Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cathy’s wish is to have donations made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 100 N 20th St, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
