

Hans Herman Boman, age 64, of Swarthmore, PA, passed away January 30th, 2020, at the Sterling Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Media, PA. Born in Denmark, in 1955, he was the son of Lars Hermann and Lilian (Johnson) Boman.
Hans earned a Bachelors in Music from the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts, remaining in the Philadelphia area. He shared his musical genius for over 45 years, primarily piano and organ, but also guitar and African drums. For the last 20 years, he was employed at Swarthmore College as an accompanist to the Ballet and Dance Company, and also with soloist musicians performing. He played Church services at various religious houses in the region, notably over 25 years at the Christian Science Society in Drexel Hill. Those who knew him enjoyed his wit and humor; privately, he was a man of deep Faith.
He will be remembered by his many Swarthmore College friends and his extended Church family. He is survived by sisters Catharina Brosmith of Bethel, CT, Susan Boman-Moman married to Robert Moman of Helsingborg, Sweden, Marina Guldstrom of Gotland, Sweden, Haje Boman of Seattle WA, and his brothers, Peter Boman married to Kim Shafer-Boman of Buffalo NY, and Dr Lars Boman married to Deborah Boman of Boston and Fall River MA. Family includes 14 nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents.
A Memorial Celebration to remember Hans will take place from 4-6PM on Friday February 28th, 2020 at the Swarthmore Friends Meeting House, 12 Whittier Place, Swarthmore PA. The Provost will open the meeting. In the Quaker tradition, anyone can speak. The family invites the College Community, his Church family, and all those who knew Hans to come together
