Michael McCracken, his son-in-law, and Rodney Sumner, his great nephew, officiating, under the
direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, Texas with internment in Haven of
Memories Cemetery.
Kozell (Shorty) Parker, was born June 8, 1926 in Wills Point, Texas to the late Howell James
Parker and Lamora Maybelle Nicholson Parker. He drew his last breath on Earth and his first
breath in Heaven on April 9, 2019 in Georgia.
Shorty was a very devoted Christian man attending Fruitvale First Baptist Church in Fruitvale,
Texas for the better part of his life. After moving to Georgia to be near his kids, grandkids and
great-grandkids, he attended Castleberry Road Baptist Church with his family.
Shorty is survived by his daughters: Jan Parker Eldredge, Kim Parker McCracken and husband
Mike; grandchildren: Micheal Eldredge, Crystal McCracken Thornton and husband Ben, Clint
McCracken and wife Brooke; six great-grandchildren: Parker Elizabeth Eldredge, Landon
Micheal Eldredge, Logan Alexander Thornton, Jaxson Chase Thornton, Brooklyn Grace
McCracken and Caleb Everett McCracken; and sisters: Mary Tillman and Virginia Lee; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Shorty is preceded in death by his beautiful wife JoAnn, his parents, Howell James Parker and
Maybelle Parker; and sisters: a baby sister who died shortly after birth, Dollie, Hazel, Goldie, Etta
Mae, Catherine(Cassie), Charity, and Mildred (Millie); and three brothers: Neal, James and Odell
(Joe).
