Dear Dan and family: I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your wife, Lahneen.  Every time I  spoke to you and asked about her health, you always described her as so determined and optimistic that maybe she could kick this cancer.   I was hoping and praying for a miracle in hope that the cancer would not win and take her away.   My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during the difficult time. Although we did not have the privilege of knowing Lahneen, through our association with Dan we came to know that she was obviously a warm, considerate and caring human being, who was very much loved by her family and friends.

For many years, Dan has undertaken maintenance, repair and construction projects on homes in Lakewood Village, Punta Gorda, where we live. During his visits, Dan frequently mentioned his wife, and we almost got to know her as an acquaintance.

Our sincere condolences to you, Dan, and your family members at this challenging time.

Lahneen was my friend and old neighbor, a lot of good times were had in the old neighborhood.   She was a very hard working lady.  She was also with me when my twins were born, thank God for her.  My heart is broken.  My thoughts are with the entire family, sending my love to you all.

Lahneen we will miss you greatly but know that you are rejoicing with our Savior. 
You have always been such a special sweetie to us. Your beautiful smile and personality will always be a part of our memory of you. Until we meet again your beautiful spirit will be missed. Love you.

Lahneen will always be my biker angel! She convinced me I needed a girly  bicycle! I will say hi to her every time I get on my bike!

Lahneen Marie Slantis is survived by her loving spouse, Daniel, they were married 40 wonderful years; two children, Megan and Daniel III; three grandchildren, Natalie, Ashby and Julian; two siblings, Lisa and Daniel; three nieces and four nephews.
