Alton Kornegay, 83, died August 12, 2015. Alton was born on April 3, 1932, to the late Alex Daly and Vera Claire Kornegay. Mr. Kornegay started Kornegay Septic Tank in 1958. He enjoyed meeting people and loved the work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Morris and Lee Kornegay and sisters, Ruth Carlton, Margaret Frederick, and Mary McDonald.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Enza Adeline Kornegay; son, Alton Korengay, Jr. of Raleigh; stepdaughter, Linda Clifford and husband, John, of DeLand, FL; grandson, Alston Kornegay; and granddaughter, Lily Kornegay.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:45pm on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Cary followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory can be made to South Hills Baptist Church, 6400 Holly Springs Road, Raleigh, NC 27606.
