Tonia Jean Hemphill passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 at the age of 53 in Centennial, Colorado. She was born April 26th, 1969 to Darlene Lobato and Robert Hemphill. Tonia went to Arapahoe High School and played Varsity soccer where she won two state championships. She continued her education and played soccer at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Most recently, she was employed with Norgen Inc. located in Littleton, Colorado.
In her free time, she enjoyed the company of her dog, Hudson, and her cat, Cleo. She was an avid sports enthusiast and cheered on the Colorado Rockies, Colorado Avalanche, Nebraska Huskers, Pittsburg Steelers, and many more. As an adult, she loved to play soccer, golf, and rugby. She also had a passion for going on joy rides in her red Miata, which she affectionally called Little Red, refurbishing classic cars, attending car shows, and taking scenic photos in the mountains. She supported small businesses and visited local bars and breweries. She enjoyed listening to country music, following her favorite Red Dirt bands, and attending concerts. Her friendly/outgoing personality and infectious smile allowed her to easily create many friendships along the way. She was a very generous person who always enjoyed paying it forward and treating people with kindness.
Tonia Hemphill is survived by her mother, Darlene (Ray) Lobato, and her father, Robert (Sue) Hemphill. Her siblings are Sherri (Jeff) Loucks, Monte (Robbin) Hemphill, and Shelli (Todd) Mumaw. Her nieces Ashleigh Loucks, Halleigh Loucks, Danielle (Dalton) Mumaw, Madison Hemphill, and her nephew Cameron Loucks. Cousin Greg (Beth) Macy and their children Richard (Amber) Macy and Blake Macy.
At a future date, there will be a celebration of life, a location to be determined.
