Kathleen Hollingsworth

Kathleen Helen Hollingsworth, or Kathy to friends and family, passed away on March 15th, 2019 at the Gilchrist Center in Baltimore City. Kathy was born June 27, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland. Her first home was on Kingston Road in Baltimore City’s Ten Hills neighborhood. In the mid 1950’s she and her parents (the late Tom and Helen Hollingsworth) moved to the then new suburb of Rockdale in Baltimore County. In the mid 1980’s Kathy became a part of the Mosaic Community Services in Catonsville, Maryland. Her last home located on North Bend Road was one block away from her very first home.

In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s Kathy worked as a volunteer for Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Child Life Program assisting in play and recreational activities with inpatient children. When a young child from Greece came for heart surgery while Kathy was volunteering, Kathy quickly enlisted the help of her Greek grandmother who went to the hospital providing a familiar cultural connection and food and love for the child and parents.

Kathy is survived by her two sisters and their husbands Diane and Albert Lichtenstein and Trish and Glenn Roger; a niece and three nephews and their spouses Heather and Wes Paxton, Noah and Athena Lichtenstein, Max and Kelli Lichtenstein, and Thomas Roger; her grandnieces Chloe, Emily and Ivy; her grandnephews Nick, Hugo and Shaw; by her aunt and cousins and their spouses; and many friends from the Mosaic Community in Catonsville.
