Myrna Margaret Kimball Kelt, 85 years old, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2023, with family by her side in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ms. Myrna is survived by son Harold Kelt, III and wife Dawn, son Steve Kelt and wife Leslie, daughter Brenda Kelt, son Donald Kelt, Grandchildren Season Kelt Johnson, Jordan Kelt, Zach Kelt Buras, Sunshine Brossette Williams and Summer Brossette Donnell; brother Jeffery Kimball and wife Linda Musmeci, as well as many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
Ms. Myrna is preceded in death by the late Harold Kelt Jr. her beloved husband, sister Marilyn Kimball Napolitano, and parents Burnett and Pearl Kimball.
Myrna Margaret Kimball Kelt was born in New Orleans to Burnett Kimball and Pearl Roy of Plaucheville Louisiana on August 15, 1937. She was married to Harold Kelt, Jr. on July 11, 1954, by Justice of the Peace Richard Riess in St. Bernard Parish, with catholic nuptials following on July 13, 1954, by Reverend Martin at St. Vincent de Paul Church in New Orleans.
Ms. Myrna was a homemaker much of her life, assisting her husband ‘Junior’ in the operation of various businesses over the years as well as raising their four children. She went back to school at Chalmette High School to obtain a GED and later in life worked at the Piccadilly Cafeteria for many years.
A celebration of her life will be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday March 11, 2023, located at 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, Louisiana. Harold, Steve, Donald and Brenda welcome all family and friends to attend so we may share happy memories of Mom. Visitation hours for the memorial gathering will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
