

Nobia R (Welborn) McCumber, born January 1, 1944 and passed away at the Woodbine Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in Alexandria, Virginia on Friday, September 20, 2019.
Nobia was born and grew up in Laurel, Mississippi and was active in singing in the area and church, cheerleading and loved visiting her sister at Biloxi Beach. She was a great cook, loved to crochet, Knit, sew and had a special talent for oil painting with evidence of many beautiful portraits of cherry blossoms, and Mt Fuji in Japan. She had a the travel bug and loved to travel all over, visiting her daughter that was living in Okinawa, Japan and in Augsburg, Germany. She was a secretary and later a federal employee working at the IRS before she resigned to train for her dream job as a certified nursing assistant (CNA). She worked as a CNA in both Florida and Canada before she retired and moved back to Florida and then finally Virginia to be near her daughter. After she graduated from high school and prior to marriage, she lived in Biloxi, Mississippi. While married to active duty Air Force service member Douglas Jones of Kinston, NC she lived in many locations here and abroad to include Mississippi, Texas, Germany, Japan, and Florida until they divorced in 1982. She was later married to Dan White of Palatka, Florida before that ended in divorce in 1998. She was later married to John McCumber of Moncton, (New Brunswick) Canada until that ended in divorce in 2011.
She is proceeded in death by her father, Vester Welborn and mother, Lillie Bynum Welborn of Laurel Mississippi, and two sisters Eva Jenkins Ellis, and Joyce Hilbun.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Jones) Glasoe, one son-in-law Kim Glasoe of Woodbridge, Virginia, a son, Kevin Jones of Macclenny, Florida, one daughter-in-law Ginger Jones of Macclenny, Florida and seven grandchildren in Woodbridge, Virginia and Jacksonville, Florida as well as one great grandson in Woodbridge, Virginia.
She loved the Lord and now is home with Him. A close family memorial will be held in the future, date to be determined.
