Jeanetta K. Porter of Charleston went to her final Home on Feb. 26 just 5 weeks shy of her 95th birthday. This amazingly strong woman left a legacy of faith, courage and determination in the face of adversity and loss to all who survive her. She was born the youngest of six children to William and Victoria Eggleston and survived by several years her siblings, Paul, Franklin, Beulah, Edward and Beatrice. Left to reflect on her life are a half sister, Leora, of Ceredo, WV, three daughters, Victoria Griffith (Larry) of Charleston, Diana Chapman (Ralph) of Charleston and Jennifer Porter of Chula Vista, CA; five grandchildren, Candace (David) Provost, Jamie (Angela)Chapman, Chris (Laura) Griffith, Bryan Griffith and Kelly (Scott) Burke and five greatgrandchildren, Gabriel Provost, Addison Provost, Peyton Perdue, Matthew Perdue and Elijah Griffith; nieces Phyllis Hale, Janis Hatfield and nephew Roger (Judy) Evans. We have a rich heritage because of her and the Christian faith she introduced us to that will sustain us in our loss. Visitation will be Sunday, Mar. 1, at Wilson Funeral Home from 2-4pm with a short service to follow conducted by Rev. Dr. Archie Snedegar. Burial will be Monday at Sunset Memorial Park mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kanawha Hospice for the wonderful and caring work they do.
