In approximately 1965, I met Bert when we were 5th graders at Emmaus Lutheran School in Denver Colorado. We became good friends; and  continued our friendship through our adult lives.

Bert was a good man and a close friend over the years. We had a tradition of calling each other on birthdays and other occasions.

As I write this today, on my 72nd birthday, I recall a lot of the mischief we got into at Emmaus Lutheran grade school and at Lutheran High school.

I also remember the good times and friendship we shared over the years. I will miss the phone calls and especially the friendship.
