“Robert” Bochdan Romanyszyn, 66, of Palm Harbor, Fl., passed away peacefully at home Thursday July 13, 2017 with his wife Wendy H. (Mela) Romanyszyn and his son Bryan R. Romanyszyn by his side, holding his hand. Bochdan (Bob) was born January 31, 1951 in Caracas Venezuela, son of WWII refugees Nicholas Romanyszyn and Barbara (Kaszuba) Romanyszyn. Bob, his parents, brother, Michael and two sisters Luba and Olga immigrated to USA in 1961, living in New York City several years. Bob attended local Catholic schools. After graduating high school, he furthered his education, receiving a degree for HVAC / Restaurant Equipment Service and Repair. Bob worked in the food service industry for 39 years – in New York - Ogden Foods, Nathans Famous and Sky Chefs (American Airlines) Sky Chefs, also in Phoenix Az., New Orleans La. and New Jersey. He worked for the Wendy’s International in New Jersey and Florida. Bob ran his own company ROMAN MECHANICAL SERVICES - 2006 to 2009. Bob, a Palm Harbor Florida resident since 1992, loved “hanging out” with his buddies (our dear neighbors) in his “man cave” garage – playing pool, watching football (Go Bucs!) hockey (Go Lightning!) baseball (Go Rays!) Bob also loved nature and the great outdoors - going on road trips with his “soul mate” wife Wendy and his little dog “Karma”, traveling through the Smoky Mountains and Appalachian Mountains, and along the east coast beaches “camping” in KOA Kamping Kabins. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years Wendy H. (Mela) Romanyszyn, their son Bryan R. Romanyszyn, first wife Stella (Madero Romanyszyn) Svatba, and their sons Christopher J. Romanyszyn and his wife Joanne their children Crystal and Nicholas, Eric J. Romanyszyn and his wife Marie and their children Mia and Maddalena, his Brother Mike Romanyszyn and wife Barbara and daughter Maria and family, sisters Luba (Romanyszyn) Kalyna and husband Nick and their sons Billy and Daniel, and daughter Julie and their families, and Olga (Romanyszyn) Trombetti and her daughters Nicole, Toni, and Danielle, dogs, Karma and Jack. Bob is predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Barbara Romanyszyn, and nephew Nicholas Romanyszyn. The Presidential election of 2016 (Trump) inspired Bob to finally become a U.S. citizen! With the help of Lawyer Ted Panagiotopoulos and Cassie Coleman of Bob’s doctor’s office, they worked a miracle – due to Bobs failing health, Officer Evans of USCIS of Tampa performed the ceremony at Bobs’ bedside in our home Friday July 7, 2017. Bob died a US citizen! Bob had a smile that would light up a room! He was generous and thoughtful with an unending willingness to help people. He made the world a better place. In lieu of flowers you may make a donation to Suncoast Hospice, Clearwater, FL.. A Memorial Service will be held at Bob and Wendy's home on Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 12 noon. Please RSVP - [email protected]. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Josaphts Monastery, 1 E Beach Dr. Glen Cove, NY, Saturday, August 12, 2017, at 11:00 am.
