Velma Ruth Minner

Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4708 Highlands Parkway, funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. Burial will follow at New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ruth was born in her family home in Columbia on July 4, 1926 the daughter of Cecil O’Neal and Cora (Mayes) O’Neal. She was united in marriage to Albert Lewis Minner who preceded her in death. She was employed by the University of Missouri for several years in the Lab School and Ellis Library. She was a proud homemaker and raised a garden in order to can her family’s food. She had a keen interest in genealogy, for over fifty years, and enjoyed helping others learn about their families.

Ruth is survived by her two sons: Ronald Lee Minner and Walter Ray Minner both of Columbia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother: Harold O’Neal.
