Naomi S. McDaniel

Naomi S. McDaniel, age 86 of Columbia, MS passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS. A native of Columbia, she was a homemaker and a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.

Ms. McDaniel was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Thompson; a granddaughter, Amy Thompson; grandson, Jason Dunaway; parents, Reese and Ava Shivers; and sisters, Dolores Wascomb, and Martha L. Ratliff. She is survived by two daughters, Laura Bullock of Columbia, and Ava McDaniel, of Hattiesburg; five sons, David (Sandra) McDaniel, Garry (Peggy) McDaniel, Joel (Kay) McDaniel, Darren McDaniel, all of Columbia, and John McDaniel of Montgomery, AL; two brothers, Donald (Rita) Shivers, and Ronnie (Glenda) Shivers, both of Columbia; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, August 2, 2019 from 11:30am until 1:30pm at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm at Cook Cemetery with Reverend Kenny Peavey presiding.
