She married Ray Guinn on April 29, 1944 in Trenton, New Jersey while he was stationed there awaiting to leave for Europe during WWII. He preceded her in death in 1986.
Mrs. Guinn served as City Clerk Treasurer of North Vernon from 1960 to 1970. She was elected into office three times. She also worked as a Deputy for the Columbus City Clerk Treasurer and was an Office Manager for Indiana State Highway office in Columbus. She was a life-long member of First Christian Church.
Mrs. Guinn was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.
Mrs. Guinn leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving son, Larry Guinn, daughter-in-law, Pam Guinn; grandchildren, Shelli McDonald and Kenneth Beaver; great-grandchildren, Luke and Evan Beaver, all of Martinsville; her sister, Wilma Thomas of North Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Darrel Milnes Jr.; and her sister, Doris Tietjen.
A Funeral Service to honor Mrs. Guinn will be held Wednesday, January 15 at 12 p.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Michael Herzberger officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends may call three hours prior to the service time on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
