Rick was born in Columbus April 18, 1953, the son of Marion B. “Horse Fly” and Betty L. Vandagriff Bush. He married Jane Bricker February 9, 1975 at Sandy Hook United Methodist Church in Columbus. He was co-owner of, long time Columbus business, Bush’s Market.
Rick was a member of Flintwood Wesleyan Church, was a member and past master of Camon Masonic Lodge # 343, Columbus York Rite, Bartholomew County Shrine Club and Hartsville Chapter # 550 Order of Eastern Star.
His great love was farming, working in the yard, music, reading and needle pointing and showing his work at the fair.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Bush of Columbus; daughters, Sadie (Josh) Cox of Columbus and Mollie (Toni) Bush-Nord of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Colton and Owen Cox of Columbus and Jasper Bush-Nord of Ft. Wayne; aunt, Sue Ann Vandagriff of Columbus; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Bush.
In keeping with Rick’s wishes he will be cremated. A Celebration of Life to remember Rick, and his mother, Betty who died January 8, 2022, will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Bush's Market, 7301 E 25th St., Columbus, IN 47203. Please join the family for food and to share memories...to laugh, to cry, and to remember two wonderful family members who are greatly missed. Private inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
