

Thomas E. Pettit, age 80, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010. Born in Circleville on November 27, 1929, to the late Arthur and Gertrude Pettit. Tom was a graduate of Circleville High School, and he was looking forward to visiting with his friends at their upcoming high school reunion. He then graduated from the US Naval Academy, and proudly served on the USS Douglas H. Fox. He received an MBA from The Ohio State University and had a career in sales. He was devoted to his family and greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved jazz music, black coffee, and dark chocolates. Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Lena (Kahrig) Pettit; and his brother, William Pettit. He is survived by his children, Jennie (Tom) Cherry, Susanne Brackman, and David (Rhonda) Pettit; step-children, Kathy (Jeff) Johnson, and Tony Gatten; siblings, Jack (Marilyn) Pettit, Leah Pettit, and Sally Emerine; grandchildren, Myles, Bryce, Kayla, Evie, and Adam; as well as great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service to honor Tom will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2010, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna. Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
