

Mae grew up in Riverside, Texas where her family owned the local grocery store. She attended Huntsville High School and later Sam Houston State University completing her education at East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Texas.
In 1948, Mae married her beloved husband, Glenn Winn, of Marshall, Texas. The two completed college and began their careers in the education field. Glenn's football coaching career took them to several small towns throughout Texas where Mae taught elementary school. A brief career change for Glenn took the couple and their children to Port Sulphur, Louisiana where Glenn worked for Freeport Sulphur Company in Personnel and Mae taught elementary school in the company townsite school.
In 1963 Mae and Glenn along with their three children, Glenn Jr, Dierdre, and Julie, returned to Texas settling in Conroe. Mae and Glenn both worked for Conroe I.S.D.. Mae taught elementary school for 35 years finishing her career at Sam Houston Elementary School as a third grade teacher.
Mae retired in 1985 and devoted herself to enjoying her grandchildren, family, and friends.
Mae was a member of RiverPoint Baptist Church in Conroe. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dorrace Skipwith; her daughter, Dierdre; her son, Glenn Jr.; and her husband Glenn.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law James and Patsy Dominey of Clear Lake, Texas; Her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Bobby Hare of Conroe; her daughter-in-law, Patsy Murray of Conroe; her grandchildren, Zach Hare and wife Abigail Leal Hare of Cyprus, Matthew Hare of Conroe, Jody Haneline Cope and husband Jamie Cope of Atascosita,Texas; Kelly Haneline Cook and husband Damin of Granville, Ohio; and great grand children Katie, Jessica, and Jake Maidlow , Candice Montgomery, and Devyn, Derek,Dalton, and Travis Cook.
Services will be held Tuesday , January 13, 2015 at 12:30 with visitation before at 11:00, at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303.
