Let them come to the water
And let all who have nothing
Let them come to the Lord”
Deacon Gary Ronald Patterson went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on 26 of July 2012. Gary leaves his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Patterson; his 5 grown children and their spouses, and their 17 grandchildren. Gary was a devout Catholic, who lived his life by example of faith to his family, church, and countless friends. Deacon Gary loved to share the gospel, and never neglected the opportunity to witness for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was well known throughout our community because of his volunteer work and ministry. Gary was ordained as a Catholic Deacon in 1995, and served at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Irwindale, California. Gary was very proud to be the Chaplain of the Irwindale Police Department for over five years—during which he shared his faith and led many to know our Lord. Aside from his pastoral duties, Deacon Gary was a long-time member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 5650, and the Covina Concert Band. He celebrated and regaled in times going camping and off-roading with his family—always remaining thankful for all of God’s blessings.
It was an honor to know Deacon Gary as a man of deep faith and conviction—walking with Jesus throughout each step of his Christian life. His family would like to thank their many friends for their kindness and support during this time of sorrow.
