Bertha B Murphy

Bertha B. (Jarvis) Murphy was born on September 21, 1929 in Dallas County, Texas to Lewis and Lucy Jarvis. They were blessed with twelve children. Only one sister, Naomi Smith, remains to cherish her memories. Bertha received her formal education in the Ferris Independent School District. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age with the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Sher later joined Deliverance Revival Tabernacle and has served faithfully for 50 years. Bertha was the Senior Lades Sunday School teacher until her health failed in late 2014. Bertha met and married Leon Murphy and they were blessed with seven children, Margaret Jarvis, Shirley Willis (Roy), Katherine Mitchell, Leonardo Murphy, James Murphy, Paula Williams (Larry). Christopher Murphy preceded her in death. She was also blessed with eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grands (one of which preceded her in death; and a host of other relatives and friends.
