Howard Jacks passed away December 1, 2022 after a fall. He was born Jan 15, 1933 to Lloyd and Vada Jacks near Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by both parents, sisters Loretta Bevers and Norma Thomas. He leaves behind one sister Linda Cullers and many nieces and nephews. He had many good friends in the Oak Cliff area who will miss him and his beautiful yard and garden.
Howard graduated from the University of Oklahoma and served for a time on the U.S.S. Oriskany. He sailed to Norway, Sweden, France, and later to Japan. He returned to Fort Worth and worked for a time for the Fort Worth Telegram. Later, he and Jess Gilbert became owners of The Bronx, a restaurant on Cedar Street in Dallas. The Bronx was open for nearly 35 years and was a gathering place for many in the Arts district.
Howard will be buried beside his parents in Archer City, Texas at a later date.
