Carole A. (Aberisk) Modzelewski, 77, beloved wife of the late Thomas P. Modzelewski passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at Pope John Paul II Health Care Center. Carole was born July 17, 1942, daughter of late Arthur and Lorraine (Jurdy) Aberisk.
She was a 1960 graduate of Danbury High School who was voted ‘Most Popular’ and Secretary of her class. Carole received her BA for Teaching from Danbury State College. She had taught in the New Fairfield and Danbury Public School Systems sharing her enthusiasm and love for the profession.
After starting a family, she helped her husband with his automotive businesses to then work at JCPenny’s Catalog Department. Carole’s contagious smile and humor was always enjoyed by everyone she encountered. She had an endless amount of generosity and kindness which will always be remembered.
Carole is survived by her loving and caring children, TJ Modzelewski, Robin (Tony) Haddad, and Kim (Mark) Opotzner. Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Chloe and Eliana Haddad and Ella and Aiden Opotzner. Carole enjoyed being with her family and spending time reading, playing games and laughing with her grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be conducted in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury at the convenience of the family.
