O’Neil, David Brian - of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia passed away on May 16 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Sydney Nova Scotia he was the son of Mary (MacLean) and Ben O’Neill. David leaves a long legacy of community involvement and giving, including: founding member of the Cape Breton University Honours Society, lifelong Member of the NDP, active Volunteer with the United Way, a passionate coach in boys and girls basketball, an executive member of the Microscopical Society of Canada, and a Union Shop Steward at The National Research Council Canada where he worked for over 25 years. David is survived by his wife Christena (DeeDee) O’Neil (MacMullin), his son Cameron O’Neil, his six loving siblings and a large brood of adoring nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Mary and Ben O’Neill and his oldest son Adam O’Neil. A funeral service will be held: 2pm, Saturday May 21st at St. Vincent du Paul (Christ the King Parish) in Dartmouth.
