Those left to honor her memory are: daughter, Wendy Frakes (John Miletich), Bettendorf, son, Wade Fanth, Bettendorf, and sister, Judy Hertig, Davenport. She was "Grandma Gigi" to two granddaughters, Sarah Brennan, Davenport, and Carolyn Fanth, Davenport; and six great grandchildren: Desirae, Steven, Myla, Sawyer, Evelyn, and Nora. Carrie was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Hertig, husband, Carl, son, Steve Fanth, son-in-law, Roy (Bill) Frakes, daughter-in-law, Nancy Fanth, and grandson-in-law, Josh Brennan.
Carrie attended the former Immaculate Conception Academy, graduating in 1958. Carrie met Carl in 1959 and they were married in 1961.
Carrie and Carl lived in Davenport, as well as North Miami Beach, Florida, and Longville, Minnesota, during their 53 years of marriage. Together they started and operated C&C Investment Properties and Fanth Home Improvement Company. She was a hardworking woman who could out work any “handyman”. They loved to travel, and as certified scuba divers they explored the waters of Haiti, Bahamas, Cancun, and the Florida Keys. Carrie enjoyed reading, crafting, playing cards, spending time with family and friends, raising poodles, and her wine time. She was blessed with many cousins and special friends throughout her life. She was an honest woman who always spoke her mind and a fierce defender of what she believed in.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Runges Mortuary in Davenport. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to Kings Harvest Pet Rescue or AFTD - Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration
